Project Info:

FOLK, the Forschungs- und Lehrkorpus Gesprochenes Deutsch (Research and Teaching Corpus of Spoken German) is being constructed in the program area “Oral Corpora” of the Institute for the German Language (IDS). FOLK was started in 2009 as a long-term project to compile a diverse and systematic collec-tion of audio and video recordings of spontaneous, authentic interactions across the whole spectrum of verbal interaction in German society. Thomas Schmidt headed the project from 2012 to 2019.
